Betty needs rotator-cuff surgery

Tuesday, May 2, 2023

Wonderful friends,

Wow, God is undoubtedly moving and working. The money you give through Alignment Ministries does so much. You support David Gardner planting churches in Peru and leading a Bible College training men and women to do gospel ministry.

You were already giving and seeing great things, but something happened. I was in Peru, and many pastors were sharing their needs. One pastor, Amador Lovón in Mollendo, Peru, has been pastoring there for over 19 years. They have been in rented and borrowed buildings.

Amador asked me if I would help. I told him I would put it in my prayer letter, pray over it, and we could ask God. A few days after returning to the USA, I got a Facebook message from a friend from our previous ministry. She had $20,000 to donate and wanted it to be used where it was needed most.

God answered prayer almost immediately. God still hears and answers prayer. The check is in hand. We are waiting for it to clear, and then that money goes to Peru to make a difference in a church. I will send you more pictures than I have in the following letter.

Also, you support Vladimir and Irina Akimov serving in the Ukraine. You know it is a blessing to be part of anything to glorify God in that region of the world.

I just got word from Pastor Jose Benitez in Queretaro, Mexico. You sent $8,000 to help them with the purchase of their property for their church. They are already working in their new building.

Your giving also supports a Missionary Widow, Carolyn Pace in Peru. They are some of the most wonderful people in the world.

Thomas Alute serving God in Kenya is supported by your contributions. You are doing even more around the world that I will mention the next time. Thank you so much.

Medical Update

Betty and I will leave soon to minister in Africa. We are very blessed and excited to have this opportunity.

Betty dislocated her shoulder a few weeks ago, and upon arrival from Africa, she will have rotator-cuff surgery. She is in relatively constant pain right now and could use your prayers.

I get more scans this week and will find out later if i am still cancer free. Thank you for praying.

God is blessing the Society of Mentors and the Spanish version, Sociedad de Mentores. I am so grateful for all that he is doing.

I invite you to check out my YouTube channels in English and Spanish.

Thank you for all you do.

God bless you

Austin and Betty

Gratitude, a sentiment often tucked away in the recesses of our hearts, possesses the transformative power to enrich not only our lives but also the lives of those around us.

In January of 1987 Betty, the kids, and I arrived in Querétaro, Mexico to study Spanish. I literally didn’t know ten words. I am forever indebted to Georgia, Hermana Luisa, Webb for the language institute she ran for many years. She was strict. She pushed hard. Betty cried on more than one occasion. Without the challenge I know that I never would have learned the language. The language school gave me structure, discipline, help learning what to do next. Read the rest of the letter then go watch this video the BBF did of Miss Webb. When you get this letter, Lord willing, Betty and I will be in Mexico and we will be visiting this wonderful godly lady. I thought of this lady often over the years. I remembered how hard she had been on me. I remembered being tortured it seemed but I survived Hermana Luisa and she made me a thriving missionary. Thank you Hermana Luisa for helping a red neck Tennessee hillbilly learn enough Spanish to do some ministry. God bless you. So know that language school might be very beneficial for you. Efficient Resource Utilization: Organized lesson plans and materials ensure learners make the most of their study time, covering essential language elements in a coherent manner. Clear Learning Objectives: Well-organized courses outline clear learning objectives, helping learners understand what to expect and what is expected of them. Resource Accessibility: Organized language schools provide learners with easy access to a variety of resources, including textbooks, multimedia materials, and language software.
