Living in Perfect Peace

Peace is ours when we stay our hearts and minds on Him,

Isaiah 26:3 Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, Whose mind is stayed on thee: Because he trusteth in thee.

Perfect peace. Can you imagine such a thing? God is to be trusted. He is trustworthy. The key to this perfect peace is keeping your heart and mind on Him. Look not at the circumstances, look not at what is going on around you, but on Him. Look not at your strength or ability but look to His. Look not at your enemies or what they can do but look to Him. He is the God of glory, the God of power, the everlasting God. He has everlasting strength.

How do we keep our minds stayed on Him? We have to realize what our problem is. Are we are more concerned about the gifts the Giver has given us than the Giver? We get too caught up in this world, thinking of our reputation and not His. We are concerned more about what people think of us than Him.

It is understandable that we have needs and wants. God promises to meet them, but when you seek Him first.

Matthew 6:32 (For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things. 33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.

He knows what you need. He knows everyone needs things and promises to meet those needs, but when we seek Him.

Typically, we would have fears and worries and lose our peace, but He says we can pray, ask Him, thank Him, and get up and go away with peace that passes all understanding. Let’s trust God.

Philippians 4:6 Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. 7 And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. 8 Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.

Peace is ours when we stay our hearts and minds on Him, trust Him to do what is best for us, and take our petitions to Him and leave them with Him. Today, take steps to have perfect peace!

In the storms that will come in your life on the mission field, only one thing will keep you going: if you learn to think about these things. We are to stay our mind on Him. He then gives perfect peace. That is a strong modifier. Perfect peace is the peace that passes all understanding. We are to set our affections on things above

Colossians 3:1 If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God. 2 Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.

Anybody can have peace when all is going right, but only God gives peace when all is going wrong. Stay your mind on Him and trust Him.
