Lost Ground

no vision for a perishing world

Many a man has grown into middle life with no vision for a perishing world, with no burden for a lost soul, and no real heart in the work he does for God. If he were to ask himself why, he could look back into his youth to a time when, for a few moments, he had turned away from God’s best, when he had been led into an unholy practice and because of that had lost his grip and his power. The Holy Spirit was grieved, and now the man is a useless instrument for God—still preaching, still teaching, still leading, but out of blessing. May the Holy Spirit write it with power on your hearts: lost ground in Christian living is very hard to recover.
