Surgery to Remove Cancer this Tuesday

Thank you for praying.

Dear praying friends,

Surgery this Tuesday at 7:30 AM

I promised to keep you updated on what was happening with my cancer. Tuesday, I have to be at Emory Hospital downtown at 5:30 AM. Surgery is scheduled for 7:30. He has the operating room reserved for 299 minutes or nearly 5 hours.

He says that he believes that he can get all the cancer. If he can do so, then I would be cured. That is the word he used. He warned that the cancer might come back in 50% of the cases.

I am to expect five days in the hospital. Then recovery should take about eight weeks. The doctor said eight weeks was what he hoped for me to return to normal.

My family and I ask you to pray that the Lord’s will be done. I am ready for heaven, but if the Lord still desires to use me here, I am prepared to serve. To go to heaven, which is much better, or to stay here to be used by God. I am ready for either.

I will be out of it for several days, but as soon as possible, I will update you on what God has done via this surgery.

Ministry update

God has always blessed me with so much more than I deserve. Thank you so much for keeping up with us. Thank you for praying.

God has allowed me to preach 2 to 3 times every week. I enjoy that very much.

I have been writing a lot at From Austin’s Pen. I invite you to take a look.

I am also writing a testimony of our life. You can find the first story here and a link to 58 stories. Could you have a read and tell me what you think?

Thank you all for praying for us. So many of you have been so kind to stay in touch. I do not have sufficient words to express my gratitude.

We love you,

Austin and Betty
