The dangers of starting a Bible College

the students started churches in their first year or two

One of the biggest dangers in having any sort of higher education program is the pride it causes. Men and women begin to think that they are far advanced above their peers. As a result, they become condescending in their attitudes.

I Corinthians 8:1 Now as touching things offered unto idols, we know that we all have knowledge. Knowledge puffeth up, but charity edifieth.

Bible colleges that were initially started to train pastors, missionaries, and church planters become too academic. All of a sudden, the classes become about knowledge rather than knowing God. They learn from books, videos, research, online, etc.

Bible Colleges want to hold their students longer and longer. Now you need a Master's degree before we say you are ready. The students prepare and prepare for ministry and never do actual ministry.

Initially, the students started churches in their first year or two. Now they need five or more years to get started. We have lost our way.

The Bible College promotes and honors book knowledge over spiritual growth. But, unfortunately, what began as life-on-life discipleship now becomes a classroom and artificial environment that hinders God's work.

Why has the Bible College become the end instead of the means? If it was started initially to train pastors, missionaries, church planters, etc., you will have to fight to stay on target. Satan loves educated do-nothings that try to pass as men of God.
