Women Got their Dignity Back
Embarrassment turned to hope

When Eve gave birth to her son, she was excited, like any mother would be today. But it excited her for another reason. She must have thought, wondered, and considered that this man-child would be the promise that would come. You remember what God said to her on the day they sinned?
Genesis 3:15 And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel.
She was going to have a seed, a child. That seed was going to bruise or crush the head of the serpent’s seed. Her seed would stomp Satan’s head. The woman that had failed would be the mother of the Savior.
There was shame in Eve’s being deceived and sinning. But the day she sinned, God promised her she would regain her dignity. She would have a child. That child would stomp her enemy.
I Timothy 2:13 For Adam was first formed, then Eve. 14 And Adam was not deceived, but the woman being deceived was in the transgression. 15 Notwithstanding she shall be saved in childbearing, if they continue in faith and charity and holiness with sobriety.
For the longest, that part about Eve being saved by childbearing confused me greatly. But it makes sense when you see it considering the promise. She was embarrassed that day, but she was hopeful the minute a child was born. Could Cain be the one that God would use? Women got their dignity back as a mother. God gave women the privilege of carrying in their wombs the possibility of the birth of the Savior. Then one day, Mary got that privilege.
