How Can I Find the Truth

Austin Gardner • July 27, 2022

Do not destroy your brother and ruin relationships because you only hear one side or are getting slanted judgments.

Friends or any two entities or truths are not saying the same thing. There is strong argument and discussion. How can a believer Biblically find out the truth? Why not think about these Bible truths as you honestly look for the truth. Do not let cancel culture, fake news, fast talkers keep you from the truth.

  1. Deuteronomy 1:16 And I charged your judges at that time, saying, Hear the causes between your brethren, and judge righteously between every man and his brother, and the stranger that is with him. 17 Ye shall not respect persons in judgment; but ye shall hear the small as well as the great; ye shall not be afraid of the face of man; for the judgment is God’s: and the cause that is too hard for you, bring it unto me, and I will hear it.
  2. Are you being impartial as you look for the truth?
  3. Are you to judge righteously between family or your nationality and also foreigners?
  4. Are you listening to both sides?
  5. Are you being intimidated by one side or the other?
  6. Is your decision based on honest, God-honoring judgment or because you fear someone?
  7. Do you realize that you are to judge as God would if He were judging?

  8. Deuteronomy 16:19 Thou shalt not wrest judgment; thou shalt not respect persons, neither take a gift: for a gift doth blind the eyes of the wise, and pervert the words of the righteous.
  9. Are you wresting or perverting justice because of who it is or how it affects you?
  10. Do you stand to gain or lose something that will affect your decision?
  11. Is something in it for you that might blind your eyes one way or another?
  12. Is it to your advantage not to listen to both sides? Do you twist the words because of your desired outcome in the judgment? Proverbs 17:23
  13. Do you want to make a judgment without all the information?
  14. Will you go so far as to decide based on what the one person tells you?

Take the time to meditate on these Bible verses. Do not destroy your brother and ruin relationships because you only hear one side or are getting slanted judgments. You are a mature Christian. You decide.
